As team leader, John utilizes his more than 25 years of investment industry experience to serve your wealth management and retirement planning needs. He formed the McCloskey Financial Group to provide his clients with an enhanced level of service, to help ensure that your needs are being addressed appropriately, and to better evaluate the various investment choices that are available today. John focuses on mitigating risk and pursuing growth opportunities for his clients’ wealth with an emphasis on investment planning, risk management strategies, and personalized portfolios that utilize strategic investments.

John holds the Accredited Investment Fiduciary® designation, which identifies individuals who have met the experience requirements of the Center for Fiduciary Studies, a division of Fi360, have gained a fundamental understanding of the principles of fiduciary responsibility and processes for meeting a defined standard of care, and have passed Fi360’s AIF® examination. He earned a B.A. from The University of Michigan and holds Series 7, 9 & 10, 63, and 66 securities licenses, as well as life, health and variable insurance licenses (including variable annuities).

John currently coaches the freshman boys’ basketball team at Haslett High School and resides in East Lansing, Michigan, with his wife, Paula, and their three children.

As a Registered Operations Coordinator, Laurie oversees the operation of the office and focuses on delivering a high level of client service. She seeks to establish new – and deepen existing – relationships with a growing client base. She is responsible for a variety of client services, including completing ongoing account-related projects, such as required minimum distributions (RMDs) and charitable giving. Her goal is to ensure clients receive timely, accessible communication regarding their accounts. Prior to joining Stifel in 2009, Laurie worked as a Registered Client Service Associate at Wachovia Securities (legacy A.G. Edwards).

Laurie earned an Administrative Assistant diploma from Dorsey Business School and holds Series 7 and 63 securities licenses.  She currently resides in Holt, Michigan, with her husband, Brian, and their three cats.

Jack has more than 20 years of financial services experience, and as a Financial Advisor Associate, he is responsible for helping John communicate with clients, develop and implement investment plans, and assist with online support. Jack is also responsible for completing ongoing account-related projects, such as required minimum distributions (RMDs), charitable giving, and meeting preparation. Prior to joining Stifel in 2008, Jack worked as a Registered Client Service Associate at Wachovia Securities (legacy A.G. Edwards).

 Jack earned a B.A. in Economics from Michigan State University and holds Series 7 and 63 securities licenses. He currently resides in Okemos, Michigan, with his wife, Andrea, and their two daughters.
